Parve

Wytch Lord City
Population: None

Set to the north west of the Wesmen Heartlands and in the lee of the Garan Mountains, Parve is the long-dead city of the Wytch Lords.

Following the Sundering of Triverne into four colleges of magic, a significant number of mage determined to keep to the path of the One Magic. This group split further, the larger, purer splinter disappearing across the Southern Ocean to be heard of then only in rumour and myth. The other headed west to found Parve and dedicate themselves to a darker art, seeking empowerment and immortality.

But the practice and development exacted an awful cost. The city became the centre for an appalling trade in slaves and blood. A few men grew rich, thousands of innocents died in the hell that was to become the temple, and later the tomb, of the Wytch Lords.

As the city grew, so the surviving mages of Triverne became greedier for life and power. While the colleges ignored them, embroiled in their own squabbles, the six left from the original thirty feted the lords of the warring Wesmen tribes, showing them riches and promising them dominions beyond their conception, building them mansions in Parve, and tenements for armies of slaves.

And as the Wytch Lords, Pamun, Arumun, Belphamun, Weyamun, Ystormun and Giriamun, lived on through the centuries, their magic and blood rituals close to perfection, the gained the status of deities among the Wesmen tribes.

When they believed themselves strong enough in magic and muscle, they struck east. They would have been victorious too, but for a mage named Septern and his spell, Dawnthief.
