Lord of the Mount Styliann's age is not matched by his appearance as, for vain Xeteskian mages, there are deals to be done with lesser demons to organise anti-ageing manaflow during sleep. Styliann was always determined to achieve the highest office of Xetesk. His family have been mages for generations but without Styliann's ambition. He immersed himself in politics immediately his reputation as an exceptional researcher and unrivalled caster of his generation was assured. Using his respected family and a few close associates as a power base, Styliann's rise into the Circle Seven was astonishingly swift. He became a tower incumbent at thirty five - younger than his nearest colleague by twenty years. As with all eventual Lords of the Mount, Styliann's ascension at 41 was not without bloodshed, though achieved within accepted practices. Styliann is credited with opening up Xetesk's college and city, bringing both prosperity and an end to the more questionable tyrannical practices of its master mages. But while the population could live without fear and travel without restriction, there was no such relaxation in the Circle. Styliann chose not to outlaw the Protector calling, nor the key links with the demon dimension. No power blocks were able to form without infiltration, allowing his tenure to be of unparalleled length. |
